More than 18,000 attendees and viewers across Oklahoma joined together for a once-in-a-generation celebration honoring the state’s first 100 years through music, storytelling, and live performance.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — November 2007 — More than 18,000 people filled the Ford Center in Oklahoma City for the Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular, a landmark concert event celebrating the state’s 100th anniversary and serving as the grand finale to a year-long statewide commemoration.

Produced by Corporate Magic for the Oklahoma Centennial Commission and Oklahoma Events, the two-hour live event was broadcast statewide on OETA, Oklahoma’s PBS network, bringing together an unprecedented collection of Oklahoma-born artists, performers, and cultural icons for a once-in-a-generation celebration of the state’s history and heritage.

The event, titled “Celebration of a Century,” featured performances by some of Oklahoma’s most recognized entertainers, including Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Jimmy Webb, Patti Page, Kelli O’Hara, Leona Mitchell, The Flaming Lips, and the All-American Rejects, alongside the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Canterbury Choral Society, and American Spirit Dance Company.

Designed as the culmination of a centennial celebration that included more than 1,000 events and projects across Oklahoma and the nation, the production honored a century of achievement while showcasing the people, culture, and creativity that have shaped the state’s identity.

Corporate Magic served as producer of the live event, with Stephen Dahlem serving as Creative Director and Melinda Lovelace producing on behalf of Corporate Magic. The production combined large-scale staging, multimedia presentation, advanced lighting design, live music performance, video integration, and broadcast coordination to create a memorable experience for both the live audience and viewers across the state.

The show transformed the Ford Center into a dynamic visual environment through the use of state-of-the-art lighting, projection, scenic design, and live performance elements. The production celebrated Oklahoma’s past while creating a modern, broadcast-quality presentation capable of matching the significance of the occasion.

OETA’s Bill Thrash produced the television broadcast, with Paul and Donna Christensen serving as Technical Producers. Broadcast Director Curt Casassa led the television production supported by a team of camera operators, audio specialists, engineers, and technical professionals from across the country.

The centennial celebration represented one of the largest and most ambitious productions ever staged in Oklahoma, bringing together artists from multiple genres, large orchestral and choral ensembles, and a nationally recognized production team to commemorate a defining moment in the state’s history.

For Corporate Magic, the Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular demonstrated the company’s ability to produce large-scale civic celebrations where live entertainment, broadcast production, cultural storytelling, and technical execution must work together seamlessly.

The event served as a fitting finale to Oklahoma’s centennial year, creating a shared experience for thousands in attendance and countless viewers across the state while honoring the people and stories that shaped Oklahoma’s first century.
